Milan, Italy – To start the 2022 POLO Milan Webinar Series, an online seminar on POLO and OWWA programs and services was conducted last 29 January 2022. The event was formally opened by the Honorable Consul General Bernadette Therese Fernandez of the Philippine Consulate General in Milan, underscoring the importance

of being updated on the programs and services being offered by the government. In particular, she mentioned that this will help clients know more about the requirements and procedures of availment which will allow potential clients to save time and energy as they are already well-equipped with information.

The seminar proper started with Welfare Officer Bergado and OWWA Administrative Staff

Giovanni Gibson Docusin discussing in detail the repatriation program and OWWA membership availment, respectively. This was followed by a presentation on the Overseas Employment Certificate and how to get the said document as discussed by POLO Administrative Staff Anthony Allermo and Local Hire Hertz Ventura.

In relation to the changing rules and regulations with regard to testing and quarantine, POLO Administrative Staff Raya Manalo discussed the latest IATF resolution containing the new testing and quarantine protocols for arriving Filipinos and foreign nationals. Afterwards, OWWA Local Hire Trisha Arcilla explained the procedure for the availment of COVID Aftercare Financial Assistance. The webinar was concluded with a Question and Answer portion to allow the audience to raise their clarifications.

The webinar has been live streamed on the POLO Milan Facebook page and has reached 5,100 views to date. Participants during the live Zoom session included OFWs from Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, and Bulgaria.
